Happenstance and Hypervigilance

As defined:
Happenstance is a chance circumstance
Hypervigilance is the enhanced state of sensory sensitivity accompanied by an exaggerated intensity of behaviors whose purpose it is to detect threats.

As defined in my work:
By chance, by accident
A stray knot in a piece of wood
An indirect splash of ink
Paint following its own rhythm
A mark out of love, anger, sadness
Childlike abandonment

Unknowingly and momentarily blind
While meditatively searching
So much imperfection with perfect journey

Determined to catalog the teasing
Of a nonexistent trip
A glimpse, a show, a moment uncovered
A thought understood

With reverence, a mark justified
knowingly
